Excellence in Hand Care: What to Expect

At Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, our hand specialists strive to provide the best hand care available in northwest Kentucky.

Our experts have extensive knowledge about the hand and wrist as well as the different types of injuries and conditions patients may experience. Our specialists also understand that each patient is unique. That’s why they are committed to taking a patient-centered approach to care to provide each patient with the best treatment solution.

When developing an individualized treatment plan, our hand doctors will first recommend any applicable conservative treatment options. These nonsurgical methods may include receiving physical therapy from a physical therapist, wearing a brace, taking over-the-counter medication, or seeing a certified hand therapist for occupational hand therapy. Many times, these nonsurgical approaches can bring about gradual improvements that can greatly reduce or eliminate the wrist or hand pain you are experiencing.

However, if nonoperative care is not effective or becomes less effective over time, our hand surgeons will discuss your surgical options and help you determine which surgery is right for you. Rest assured that our surgeons not only have the expertise and exceptional skills needed to perform the required surgery, but they also have access to state-of-the-art surgical equipment, which helps to ensure the best outcomes possible.

If our surgeons believe that a special type of surgery, such as arthroscopy, nerve repair, or carpal tunnel surgery, is the best treatment option for you, they will educate you on the full process and the steps involved in your recovery as well as answer any questions you may have.
